Do You Ever...

Do you ever watch a television show and become attached to the characters because of the way they made you feel?

I have been watching Friends ever since I can remember, probably even back to when season 3 was starting. I still watch it to this day, and yes, the reruns are just as good as when they first aired on television. This may sound or seem absurd, but the characters and the show itself will always hold a very special place in my heart. Throughout the seasons the audience gets very personal glimpses of each character's life. Therefore, as a result, I got "attached" to where it felt like I was actually living in their sphere of shenanigans. Some episodes I would find myself rooting for Ross and Rachel, some days I hoped Joey would finally get his "big break" as an actor. Ultimately, I think, having been exposed to this show for so many years was also a contributing factor. Also, another contributing factor to becoming attached to this show was being exposed to what I did not have in reality. The majority of our inspirations are from external sources. It is not until we "re-make" those inspirations to make it our own accomplishment. So this show of six friends that, basically, lived together for ten years, allowed me to get that experience. I mean, what is not to love about six friends sharing a decade of fun, laughter, memories, and pure emotion.

(Yes, there were times where I wished I could have their life)  :

What are some of your favorite television shows? I have heard great things and lots of hype about Grey's Anatomy (for those of you who have watched it), so that is something to look forward to!
